Sixteen Is The New Fifteen

With the conclusion of tonight's Cup Final in Toronto, the 2010 MLS season will be behind us.  For the Union, the offseason means the normal roster changes that will form the 2011 team, now merely a gleam in Nowak's eye. But for our neighbors to the North (no, not Canada) the failure-ometer ticks over to a new year, which we predict will be the New York/New Jersey Energy Drink's sixteenth without an MLS Cup (or any other Cup at all).

Musical interlude: Johnny Cash "Sixteen Tons"

You've played fifteen years and whatta ya get
Another year older and nothin' good yet
Your payroll is bloated, yet you can't win
(And) you've sold your soul for that Red Bull tin.

How to remind them? Jeffrey M from Section 133 writes: "Can we get one of these banners [see below - Eds.]  for REDBULL? This banner is used by Man United against my beloved Man City and it CUTS to the BONE... We should have one in the River End...[or somewhere else in PPL; why should the River End have all the fun? - Eds.] Could Read "NJ PinkCows (16) Years No Cups" We could update it EVERY year.. Leave it up FOREVER."

Great suggestion, Jeffrey. Here's what he's referring to

Nasty
We'd also love to see a slot machine theme banner for their Designated Player fiasco:
Three DPs, no Cups
The offseason is for rehab tifo creation, so have at it, kiddies.
